WE ARE OPEN WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES

Following the latest COVID announcement from the government last week, groups of more than 6 people are not allowed to play sport together unless part of an organised event such as coaching, social tennis, matches etc. Informal groups of more than 6 people to play tennis are not allowed.

It remains important to follow the guidance from the LTA.  In particular you must not attend if you or any members of your household show any symptoms of COVID 19, please hand sanitise regularly, stay 2 metres apart and for social tennis sign in before playing.

Social tennis on Wednesday evenings will continue through the winter. As only two floodlit courts are available please contact Jody if you wish to play. There is a charge of £2 to cover the use of floodlights.

THE FOLLOWING RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO
Social distancing must be adhered to at all times.
There must be no congregating on or around the courts.
Players must bring their own hand sanitiser and ensure they use it frequently.
Players should NOT attend if they, or someone in their household, have symptoms of COVID-19.
Please do not exchange racquets.
The kitchen facility will remain closed.

No outdoor seating will be provided to discourage grouping of players.

The changing rooms will remain closed apart from for use of the toilets.
Only 1 lady and 1 man will be allowed in the clubhouse for toilet facilities at a time.

The Guidelines require us to keep a log of who plays to assist the NHS Test & Trace. There will be a sign-in sheet in the clubhouse to enable these records to be kept. If a committee member is playing they will facilitate this, but on the occasions that no one from the committee is available, it is the responsibility of club members to ensure the register is taken. Please also include all visitors names and hosts on the list.
If social tennis participants fail to complete the register we will have to consider stopping social sessions. Please remember this is a members club, run for members by members and we all need to play a part in its success.

Guidelines for Social Tennis

All members and their guests are welcome. A visitor fee of £5 is to be paid by the host online and the visitor name included on the register.
Groups of 4 play, randomly selected (ie no need to arrive with a partner), the first 4 to arrive play together.
They play 1 set, with a 7 point tie break if the score reaches 5 all.
Players provide their own balls.

Once the set is finished, please do not congregate on the courts, come back to the grass at the clubhouse, keeping social distancing, racquets of those wishing to play are placed on the grass and future 4 s are randomly selected. Please do not touch anyone else racquets. People who arrive when sets are being played, and there are less than 4 people to play, are asked to keep their distances and wait for players to finish to make up another 4.

During Social Tennis scheduled times the social play takes precedence on the astro courts; and non-participating players will be asked to move should additional courts be required.

Enjoy your tennis!

Stay safe,

The Committee
